Hello,
My name is Yanis Noam Gerd Kohlhepp, I am 19 year old a Gameplay Programmer and Designer currently studying at ISART Digital in Paris. My passion for game development drives me to combine technical programming expertise with creative design thinking to craft engaging and memorable experiences. With each project, I strive to refine my skills and push the boundaries of what I can create.
Throughout my journey, I have worked on a variety of projects, each presenting unique challenges and valuable learning opportunities. Recently, I collaborated with a team of five to develop a Sokoban-style puzzle game. My contributions included brainstorming the game concept, programming the core gameplay mechanics, and designing levels. Together, we integrated sound assets and fostered a strong team dynamic to bring the project to life.
Another highlight is a Shoot'em Up game I developed during my first year at ISART Digital. I took charge of defining gameplay mechanics, programming, and level design while collaborating with a sound designer to enhance the game’s immersive experience. This project reinforced the importance of blending technical skills, creativity, and communication to produce games that are both engaging and cohesive.
In just one week, I developed a simple One Button Game, a project that challenged me to think creatively within constraints. Despite the limited timeframe, I conceptualized the idea, coded the gameplay, designed a level, and integrated sound assets to deliver a fully playable experience.
A particularly special project was during the Ludum Dare 48-hour game jam, where I created a Dropper-style game in three days. This intense experience taught me to work under pressure, collaborate effectively, and iterate rapidly on ideas. I am proud to share that the game is now available on Itch.io for players to enjoy.
Additionally, I developed Upside Dawn, a browser-playable platformer available on Itch.io. Over three months, I worked on conceptualizing the game, programming mechanics, designing levels, and integrating sound assets. This project showcased my ability to manage longer development cycles, collaborate with team members, and deliver a polished, playable experience.
Beyond my projects, I bring a strong educational foundation from ISART Digital and hold a high school diploma from Massillon in Paris. My studies have honed my programming skills in languages like C#, as well as my proficiency with game development tools such as Unity and Godot. I am experienced in version control with Git/GitHub and have skills in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and the Google Suite. Additionally, I have taught myself the basics of HTML, CSS, and Python.
My mother tongues are French and German, and I am fluent in English, enabling me to communicate effectively and thrive in multilingual environments. I am recognized for my rigor, motivation, and adaptability—qualities that drive my success in collaborative and creative settings.
When I am not developing games, I enjoy film, reading, sailing, and traveling, all of which inspire and refresh me in my creative pursuits.
Thank you for visiting my page.
